I believe that we need to advocate for smart investment in our community by making sure that our roads are fit to serve the people who need to use them, that our infrastructure is ready for the expansion we see in our cities and that we are ready to look for creative solutions for the rapidly changing needs of Hennepin County.

Issues like healthcare, public safety, transportation and the environment are all connected. We need to elect people who are willing to engage beyond a single talking point, and try to find solutions to problems facing people in our community. I’m looking forward to working with community organizations, and public officials at all levels of government to ensure that we are meeting the needs in a way that is responsible and efficient.

I know we’ve all been caught in traffic… wanting to be home after a long day, or needing to pick up a sick child from school. As our community grows, we need to make sure that we are investing in the infrastructure needed to keep our community running. I believe that investments into our transportation infrastructure are one of the primary means to ensure that our community is able to thrive.

Over 40% of the county’s budget is dedicated to health services. Hennepin County has a history of addressing the needs of its people in an efficient and people-focused manner. I believe that while we are doing great work, there are still ways that we can improve delivery of these services. We have an obligation to invest in our healthcare delivery to address the needs of the people of Hennepin County wherever they live within the county.

Hennepin County has amazing natural resources. Our rivers and land have provided us with the opportunity to farm, do business, and relax with our loved ones. In district 7, we have a both suburban and rural spaces, and from the people I’ve talked to, this is what makes it so special! Recognizing that clean water, green trees, and quiet spaces to relax are what makes this the community to raise families and settle down, means we need to have leaders who will work to conserve and preserve our environment.
